Recyclable retort pouch is an eco-friendly recyclable packaging solution for high-temperature retort packaging. These retort pouches are made from recyclable PP mono-materials like OPP/HBOPP/RCPP (polypropylene), which are designed to withstand high-temperature retort sterilization process while maintaining food quality and safety. Unlike traditional retort pouches made from multi-layer plastic materials, recyclable PP retort pouches can be easily recycled. These packaging combine sustainability with high barrier performance, helping reduce environmental impact.

Recyclable retort pouches can be customized into a variety of flexible packaging styles to meet different product requirements:
Stand up pouch: Ideal for ready-to-eat meals, soups, and other instant food.
Lay flat pouch: Commonly used for wet pet food, tuna, and sauces.
Spout pouch: Suitable for baby food, beverages, and liquid products.
Flow wrap: Great for single-serve packaging.

1. Outer Prinitng Layer (OPP)
The outer layer is OPP, offering excellent printability, allowing for vibrant and detailed custom design. It also provides high strength and resistance to external factors, ensuring the retort pouch remains intact during transportation.
2. Middle Layer (HBOPP)
The middle layer HBOPP (high barrier BOPP with SiOx coating) acts as a strong barrier against light, oxygen, and moisture. This barrier is important for preserving the freshness, flavor, and nutritional value of the retort food products inside.
3. Inner Sealing Layer (Retortable Polypropylene - RCPP)
The inner layer is in direct contact with the food and is designed to be safe and non-reactive. It is the key to the pouch's ability to withstand high-temperature sterilization processes, making it ideal for retort applications.
1. High-Temperature Resistance
The retort pouch can stand sterilization processes like retorting, which heat-resistant to high temperatures (121–135°C) in pressurized steam. The retort process ensures ready-to-eat products' safety and extends their shelf life without preservatives or refrigeration.
2. High Barrier Protection
The material HBOPP of the mono PP retort pouch is a kind of high barrier PP films - barrier coating(SiOx) on a layer of OPP. This HBOPP film is a metal-free barrier layer that provides excellent protection against oxygen and moisture and preserve the freshness and flavor of packaged food.
3. Recyclability
Our mono PP retortable pouch is fully recyclable to meets the growing demand for sustainable packaging. And our retort recyclable pouch meet the recyclability of CEFLEX.

Recyclable retort pouches are compatible with various sterilization methods, ensuring food safety and product longevity:
1. Retorting (Heat Sterilization):Exposing sealed retort pouches to high temperatures from 121 to 135°C in pressurized steam to sterilize food contents.
2. Microwave Sterilization:Microwave sterilization works by exposing products to microwave energy to kill bacteria.
3. High-Pressure Processing (HPP):Using ultra-high hydrostatic pressure (up to 100,000 PSI or 600 MPa) to inactivate microbes without heat.
